All Day
Tarpon Springs Campus, Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art
Leepa-Rattner Museum of Arts
Superman and Sitting Bull, Mickey Mouse and Mick Jagger, Donald Duck and Howdy Doody, Uncle Sam and Teddy Roosevelt – icons from history and pop culture by the master of Pop himself, Andy Warhol – will fill the galleries of Leepa-Rattner Museum of Arts this summer.
Warhol was fascinated by the famous and the infamous. This silkscreen Myth series includes Mata Hari and the Wicked Witch, as well as Santa Claus, and the images are enhanced with the luster of diamond dust. His lesser known Cowboys and Indians series captures notions of the Wild West with Annie Oakley and John Wayne as well as Kachina dolls, a shield from the Plains Indian tribe and a portrait of Geronimo. The variety of the Cochran Collection will delight audiences young and old. It is the perfect summer event for the whole family.
