Deveron M. Gibbons, Chairman Deveron M. Gibbons, of St. Petersburg, has been vice president of Public Affairs with the Amscot Corporation since 2005. Previously, he was senior government affairs advisor at Holland and Knight from 2003 to 2005 and director of government affairs for the Department of Community Affairs from 2000 to 2001. A St. Petersburg native, he received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Florida in 1995 and his master’s in Public Administration from the University of South Florida in 2006. His association with SPC began at age 3, when he would accompany his mother to the library on what is now the St. Petersburg/Gibbs Campus. Originally appointed in June, 2006, Gibbons was reappointed for a term beginning April 23, 2012, and ending May 31, 2014.

Robert J. Fine Jr., Vice Chairman Robert J. Fine Jr., of St. Petersburg, has been president of Admiral Farragut Academy since 1998 and has served in various positions at the school since 1989. He has been a member of the Florida Council of Independent Schools since 1989 and served on the board of directors from 2005 to 2009. Fine is a member of the Southern Association of Independent Schools and National Association of Independent Schools. He is also past president of the Bay Area Association of Independent Schools. Fine received his bachelor’s degree from Carroll University and master’s degree from National Louis University. Fine succeeds Richard Johnston and is appointed for a term beginning April 23, 2012, and ending May 31, 2014.

Terrence E. Brett Terrence E. Brett, of St. Petersburg, is the co-owner of Brett Funeral Home in St. Petersburg. He is past president of the St. Petersburg College Alumni Association, chairman of the Board of Governors of the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce and chairman of the Arts Center of St. Petersburg. He is a graduate of Leadership St. Pete and is chairman of its Planning Committee. He is an SPC graduate and in 1977 graduated from the Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies from Eckerd College. Brett was appointed in May, 2008; his term expires in May, 2013.

Jeffrey "Dale" Oliver Dale Oliver, of St. Petersburg, is the vice president of strategic planning for Power Grid Engineering, LLC, a Winter Springs based engineering firm specializing in electric utility engineering consulting. Previously, he served as Vice President at Progress Energy from 2001-2012 and spent almost 20 years in various leadership roles at Georgia Power. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of St. Anthony’s Hospital. He received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and his master’s degree in business administration from Georgia State University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Florida and Georgia and a graduate of Leadership Florida. Oliver was appointed in December 2012; his term expires in May, 2015.
