Explore the details and costs of the upcoming trips to decide which trip is best for you. Do not purchase your airline ticket, medical insurance or other related expenses associated with your study abroad trip until you receive an official notice of acceptance into the Study Abroad program.
How to Apply: Step-By-Step
- Review qualifications to become an SPC Study Abroad student.
- Carefully read and submit our online application.
- Pay $200 Application Fee (as instructed in confirmation email you will receive after your application is submitted)
- Meet with an academic advisor to review any or all prerequisites needed to enroll in the study abroad course.
- Submit all required forms and documentation
- Interview with and be approved by program's lead faculty member
- Be approved by the Center for International Programs
After your application is approved
Once your application is approved, you are required to take the following steps:
- Passport - Do you have a valid passport? If not, for trips outside the U.S., you must obtain your passport as soon as possible. Read the application package for more information about passports, required insurance coverage and program participation terms. Note: Passport expiration date must NOT expire sooner than 6 months prior to study abroad end date
- Visa - Do you require a visa to visit the country? Many non-U.S. citizens require visas to travel to other countries. It is your responsibility to ensure you have a valid passport and visa (if applicable) 30 days prior to your study abroad program departure date
- Submit all required forms and documentation
- Consent and Release Form
- Medical Consent and Authorization
- Release of Liability Form
- Physician Statement
- Pay all deposits and fees according to the fee schedule
- Attend mandatory pre-departure orientation
- Obtain all immunizations required by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). In addition, participants are strongly encouraged to get all immunizations and preventive treatments recommended for the particular country and regions through which they will be traveling
- Additional faculty recommendations may be required by study abroad faculty
Once your study abroad experience is completed you will be required to attend the re-entry meeting and submit a program evaluation.
