Become an SPC student using VA or military-related benefits. Learn more about all the services we provide for veterans.

  1. Apply to SPC online. (the VA does not reimburse the application fee of $40)
  2. Apply to use your benefits. Please come in to your closest campus and get help from our subject matter experts, or go to VA.gov.
  3. Fill out the Veterans Intake Form where you will transcribe and upload your eligibility documents directly to Veterans Services.

    *Please be aware that our digital signing system will email you the link to your online document to whichever email you prefer. Be sure to check spam/clutter to find the link.


  4. Request that your academic transcripts be sent to SPC.
  5. Order your Joint Service Transcripts or Community College of the Air Force transcripts to SPC; speak with your Veterans Services advisor to learn about how these transcripts interact with your education at SPC.

  6. Take the placement test if required at the Testing Center on the Clearwater, St. Petersburg/Gibbs, Seminole or Tarpon Springs campus.
  7. Contact an advisor for help choosing your course of study. Note: Students must be degree-seeking to be eligible for VA benefits.

  8. Apply for financial assistance and/or student scholarships.

The next steps diverge for each type of benefit. Please click on your benefit tab to the right and follow all sub-steps of #9.  All benefits users will come back and continue on with #10 after finishing all #9 tasks.

  1. Register for classes online via MySPC. Check registration dates on the academic calendar.
  2. Complete the Veterans Schedule Verification form (complete this form once to initiate certification, complete it again only if you make changes to your schedule).
  3. Fill out and submit the Veterans Application for 90-Day Deferment.
  1. Contact Florida National Guard Virtual Education Center to seek approval of your educational goal and funding for your coursework.
  2. Once approved, please email your approved Educational Dollars for Duty (EDD) Form directly to your Veterans Services Student Support Advisor.
  3. Register for classes online via MySPC. Check registration dates on the academic calendar
  4. Fill out and submit the Veterans Application for 90-Day Deferment.
  1. Contact your Education Service Officer (ESO) or Education Counselor within your branch of service prior to enrolling.

    U.S. Navy
    U.S. Air Force
    U.S. Coast Guard
    (All branches cover different tuition amounts, seek more information with your Veterans Advisor).
  2. Once approved, please email your Military Tuition Assistance Program (TA)  Authorization Form directly to your Veterans Services Student Support Advisor.
  3. Register for classes online via MySPC. Check registration dates on the academic calendar.
  4. Fill out and submit the Veterans Application for 90-Day Deferment.
  1. Visit the MyCAA website to register and choose a Training plan for your My Career Advancement Account.
  2. Work together with your Veterans Advisor and your Academic Advisor to create an Education Training Plan to turn in to your SECO Career Coach at MyCAA.
  3. Once ETP is approved, email your approved MyCAA form directly to your Veterans Services Student Support Advisor.
  4. Register for classes online via MySPC. Check registration dates on the academic calendar
  5. Fill out and submit the Veterans Application for 90-Day Deferment.
  1. If you rely on the CW Bill Young Tuition Waiver then you must complete the request each semester.
  2. Get your student ID card from your campus security office.
  3. Purchase your books from the campus Barnes and Noble or your chosen online resources.
