Grants

Grants are gifts to study that do not require repayment. They come from St. Petersburg College, the state or the federal government. Our students received more than $58 million in grants last year. They are based on financial need and require that you complete a FAFSA.

Applications submitted by May 1 are given priority consideration.

Federal Pell Grant

The Federal Pell Grant is based on financial need and does not need to be repaid. Pell Grants are considered a foundation of federal financial aid, to which aid from other federal and non-federal sources might be added.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG)

The Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG) is a federal grant program based on extreme financial need if you are Pell eligible. You may receive up to $200 per term.

First Generation Matching Grant Program (FGMG)

The First Generation Matching Grant Program (FGMG) is a need-based grant program available to resident undergraduate students. Award amounts vary.

Florida Student Assistance Grant

The Florida Student Assistance Grant (FSAG) is a grant for eligible degree-seeking, resident, undergraduate students who demonstrate substantial financial need.

Florida Student Assistance Grant - Career Education

The Florida Student Assistance Grant - Career Education (FSAG-CE) is a need-based grant program available to Florida residents enrolled in certificate programs at participating community colleges or career centers operated by district school boards.

SPC Student Incentive Grant

The SPC Student Incentive Grant (SIG) program is awarded if you are not Pell eligible but have unmet financial need. If you qualify, you may receive an SPC SIG of up to $400 per term.
