Be Part of St. Pete’s Cultural Legacy — Name a Seat and Help Transform This Historic Venue

The Palladium at St. Petersburg College is expanding its ambitious $10 million renovation campaign by launching a ‘Name A Seat’ initiative — an opportunity for patrons and arts lovers to leave their lasting legacy in the heart of St. Pete’s iconic venue.
Launched as part of the broader Capital Campaign, the Name A Seat program invites donors to have a name, anniversary date, or tribute engraved on a brass plaque affixed to a seat in the historic Hough Concert Hall. This community-driven effort directly supports critical renovations, including the replacement of century-old seating, upgraded acoustics, improved sightlines, and state-of-the-art production technology.
“The Palladium has been St. Pete’s home for the arts for over 25 years, and now, we’re inviting our community to become part of its story,” said Paul Wilborn, Palladium Executive Director. “By naming a seat, you’re not just supporting a building—you’re investing in the artists, students, and stories that make this place so special.”
Seat dedication levels range from $1,000 to $5,000. Larger naming opportunities are also available for patrons and businesses looking to make a significant impact. Leadership pledges can be fulfilled over a three-year period.
Honoring the Past, Shaping the Future
The $10 million Capital Campaign, backed by a transformative $5 million challenge grant from the Hough Family Foundation, aims to modernize the century-old building while preserving its rich history. To date, the Palladium has received pledges and gifts totaling $8 million.
Renovations will greatly enhance the audience experience through all new seating, sightlines, and sound. A new coffered ceiling and other physical changes and technical support will transform the Palladium into a beautiful acoustically enhanced concert hall.
“The Hough Family Foundation is honored to support this renovation, carrying forward the legacy of our parents, Bill and Hazel Hough, who cherished the Palladium,” shared Susan Hough Henry, of the Hough Family Foundation. “We invite the community to join in securing this beloved cultural landmark for the next 100 years.”
A Community Landmark for Nearly a Century
The Palladium, owned by St. Petersburg College, has long served as a home for a diverse range of performing arts. The renovation will strengthen its role as a cultural anchor and arts incubator, benefiting the many music, dance, and theater companies that call the Palladium home, including St. Petersburg Opera Company, BEACON Dance, The Florida Björkestra, and more.
“The Palladium is not just a building—it’s where artists grow, stories are told, and our community comes together,” said Dr. Tonjua Williams, President of St. Petersburg College. “This campaign ensures that future generations can continue to experience the magic of the arts in a world-class venue.”
