Giving Tuesday Campaign Delivers for the College

The St. Petersburg College Foundation raised $18,000 through the #GivingTuesday 24-hour social media campaign, surpassing it's $15,000 goal by 20%. We were able to surpass our goal with help from donors, students, alumni, faculty/staff and college leadership who used their social media platforms to spread the word about the one-day fundraiser in support of the SPC Titan Fund. The impact of the funds raised was doubled as they were matched dollar-for-dollar by the SPC Foundation Board of Directors.
In 2011, #GivingTuesday was created as an international day of giving. It's a global day of generosity movement promoting charitable giving from individuals and businesses in support of their communities during the period after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. To date, the #GivingTuesday movement has raised over $1.97 billion for nonprofit organizations within the U.S.*
We would like to give thanks to all of our generous donors who gave as well as those who also acted as ambassadors and promoted SPC as a worthwhile recipient on their social media accounts.
Funds raised through #GivingTuesday will help the college sustain academic programs, scholarships, innovative programming, student support services and every other aspect of St. Petersburg College.
We urge everyone to mark their calendar for next year's #GivingTuesday: December 1, 2020.
