Visual Disabilities Education Accelerated BS MS

Florida State University

Master’s - Blended

The program in Visual Disabilities at Florida State University prepares two types of professionals to work with individuals who are blind or who have low vision. These include:

  1. teachers of students with visual impairments (TVI) to work with children who are blind or have low vision
  2. orientation and mobility specialists who teach travel skills to people with visual impairments

There is a critical shortage of professionals in both of these specializations throughout the United States, in both metropolitan and rural areas. This accelerated bachelor/master degree program is designed to prepare graduates to help children and adults who are blind or who have low vision achieve their educational goals and prepare for their futures as contributing adults. Transfer students enter at the undergraduate level and will earn both undergraduate and graduate degrees upon completion of the program.
