St Petersburg College is making a global impact by partnering with international manufacturer Monin, the world's largest producer of gourmet sauces, syrups and purees. This family-oriented company started 100 years ago and manufactures more than 140 products that are distributed in 140 countries.

With its U.S. headquarters in Clearwater, Monin worked with the college to develop a Supply Chain Management training program so the company gets the right employees for their growing workforce.

"It's all about growth to us, but not just about growing our product," said Jonathan Jones, Monin's VP of Supply Chain Management. "It's about growing employees. If someone is willing to go out and get a little bit more education about their job, that goes a long way. That gives them a step up."

Jones noted there are many trades within the supply chain and logistics management field and all companies need people with specializations.

"St. Pete College has come up with some great programs and training that cover all of the supply chain trades," he said. "It's great to see the college grabbing this opportunity to help train people."
