Meeting Our Students Technology Needs
St. Petersburg College is committed to your success and proudly offers our Laptop Lending program to all of Pinellas County. Students who are currently enrolled may borrow a laptop with a webcam needed for SPC coursework. This program is intended for students who do not otherwise have access to a working computer to complete coursework. Students must be able to pick up the equipment at one of our campuses. We are not able to ship equipment outside of the area.
To get started, first review the requirements below and then complete the Laptop Lending program request form by visiting technologytracker.spcollege.edu. Once your request has been approved, you will be contacted in 2-3 business days to coordinate a time and place to pick up the requested technology.
- Students must not have access to a personal computer.
- Students may only borrow one laptop with a webcam.
- Students must be currently enrolled in at least one (1) SPC course.
- Dual enrollment/collegiate high school students are not eligible for this program. Please check in with your designated high school for laptop assistance.
- Students who attend a charter/private school and/or are homeschooled
please check in with the high school you are zoned for.
- Laptop is for student use only.
- Do not save files or data to the hard drive as it will be deleted upon return. Use your OneDrive account or flash drive to save your work.
- Students are required to adhere to SPC’s Information Technology Acceptable Use Policies outlined in the Student Code of Conduct.
- ALL Laptops are due for yearly updates at the end of each Spring term. The updates are
completed by our Technical Support Staf and can take up to 7 business days to process the
necessary updates. Even if you are enrolled in Summer courses, the update must be done. - You must maintain continuous enrollment. If you withdraw from classes, all equipment must be returned immediately. If equipment is not returned, your academic records will be placed on hold which will prevent future enrollment and receipt of official transcripts.
- If equipment is lost, stolen, damaged, etc., it is your responsibility to REPLACE the equipment. If the equipment is not replaced, your academic records will be placed on hold, which will prevent future enrollment and receipt of official transcripts. You will also be ineligible from borrowing equipment from the program in the future.
- The Technology Lending program term will not be considered completed until ALL borrowed equipment is returned in working condition (including charger) and the Laptop Borrowing Agreement equipment is completed by an authorized SPC staff member.
