St. Petersburg College (SPC) is proud to recognize Mike Carroll and the Carroll family for their generous contribution toward the purchase of a lending laptop library for the St. Petersburg/Gibbs Campus Math Department.

A proud alum and Foundation Board Director, Mike attended SPC’s Gibbs Campus in 1971 and credits the College for laying the foundation for his success. Now, he and his wife, Janet, are giving back in a meaningful way to support today’s students.

Understanding the challenges of the lack of technology and space, the Carroll family’s gift will provide laptops for faculty members to use in the classroom ensuring their students can learn and test in a familiar setting. This initiative will make a significant impact, particularly in the Math Department, where technology plays a crucial role in learning and problem-solving.

Reflecting on his time at SPC, Mike expressed gratitude for the opportunities the College provided him and is thrilled to pay it forward.

“SPC gave me the start I needed, and I’m happy to be in a position to help students who are working hard to achieve their goals,” he shared. The SPC community is deeply grateful for the Carroll family’s generosity, which will empower faculty and students for years to come.
