The St. Petersburg College Foundation is reinvigorating its alumni engagement efforts by transitioning from the SPC Alumni Association to the SPC Alumni Network. The network will be free and open to everyone who has earned a degree or certificate from the college.

Spearheading this initiative is longtime St. Petersburg Foundation employee Theresa McFarland who has been named the Foundation’s new Executive Director of Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving, effective July 1. McFarland assumes the newly created position after ten years with the Foundation, most recently as Executive Director of Advancement Services.

Additionally, Caity Carter, who has served as the Foundation’s Scholarship Program Manager has been promoted to Director of Advancement Services. Foundation Business Manager Timothy Scott will now report to Jesse Turtle, the Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Executive Director of the Foundation.

For Turtle, these changes are an important step in the growth of the Foundation, which is fresh off a record-setting fundraising year.

“We’re excited to create the new Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving position. It’s an important step in the continuing maturation process for the Foundation,” Turtle said. “Our alumni play a vital role in the life of the college, and this new focus on them and our annual giving work will benefit all involved.”

The St. Petersburg College Foundation supports the mission and vision of SPC and promotes philanthropic community partnerships with individuals and organizations to make a lasting impact on the lives of SPC students. Whether they are the first in their family to attend college, returning veterans, graduating high school seniors, or experienced workers retooling their skills, we are preparing the future leaders of our community.
