FREE COLLEGE EDUCATION FOR ORLANDO HEALTH, BAYFRONT HEALTH EMPLOYEES

St. Petersburg College is a part of the Orlando Health Preferred Education Program. This allows Orlando Health team members to earn a degree or certificate at SPC without incurring any personal expenses. This tuition assistance program is administered by Bright Horizons EdAssist Solutions. They ensure that Orlando Health covers all expenses, including the cost of tuition and books, for Florida residents employed by Orlando Health. This includes Bayfront Health employees.

By eliminating financial obstacles, team members can further their education while working. Once students are enrolled in courses, they are required to contact EdAssist to obtain details regarding how payment will be applied to their account.

Get Started

Eligible Orlando Health team members should follow the steps below to register at SPC and with Bright Horizons EdAssist.

  • If you are unable to provide residency information in your application, you can submit these later.
  • Pay the $40 application fee. (You will be reimbursed for this later.)
  • You will receive your seven-digit SPC ID number by email once your application has been processed.
  • Log in to your SPC student account with your SPC email (xxxx@live.spcollege.edu). Select MySPC to view any outstanding items for admission.
  • Register for classes at SPC.

Tuition costs, fees and book costs must be entered into the EdAssist System. The amount entered into EdAssist should match your costs for books, fees and courses at SPC. EdAssist will pay SPC directly once you have successfully submitted your application. (Applications are due 45 days prior to courses starting.)

Once you have been accepted into the program with SPC and your MySPC Account is set up, go to the Bright Horizons EdAssist Solutions website: orlandohealth.edassist.com

    • Click on "St. Petersburg College Preferred Education."
    • Confirm Steps 1, 2, and 3 on the dashboard.
    • In Step 4, click on the yellow box for "Apply" and follow the prompts.
    • Team members will be required to provide the following information: your assigned, accurate Student ID number; course start and end dates; course names; and cost of tuition and books.
    • Electronically sign and submit your application for approval.
    • In order to be eligible to receive reimbursement, you must pass your class with a C or better. Please note, that Orlando Health will not reimburse for any 3rd attempt class.
  • If there are any questions, please reach out to an EdAssist Representative via Live Chat during business hours, place a support ticket, or call 833-890-3226.
  • Optional: Team Members can schedule a coaching session with an EdAssist Academic Coach within the EdAssist portal.
  • For no out-of-pocket costs, order your books at the SPC Barnes & Noble Bookstore the day after you have completed your EdAssist application. Please inform the bookstore you are eligible for this program when ordering your books. EdAssist will pay Barnes & Noble directly for eligible book expenses.

  • If you purchase books elsewhere, you will instead create a book reimbursement application within the EdAssist system and be reimbursed for eligible book costs via Orlando Health’s payroll. Please anticipate 1-3 pay periods for the reimbursement.

  • Reimbursement: After submitting your application for tuition and fees from the EdAssist home screen, find your application under Action Needed, then click Add Another Expense. Enter your books quantity and cost, then sign and submit application for reimbursement.
